And yet, the foundation of the script Jenkins co-wrote with Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham, based on William Moulton Marston’s original characters, is a pretty simple one: It’s an indictment of greed, of our entitled desire to have what we want and have it now. In the process, though, the quality that made the original film such a delight has been squashed almost entirely. Maybe that was inevitable, the urge in crafting a sequel to make everything wilder and brasher, more sprawling and complicated. Kurt Kaszner as S.S.Gadot remains a winning and winsome figure in “Wonder Woman 1984,” and she retains her authentic connection with the audience, but the machinery around her has grown larger and unwieldy.Richard Eastham as General Phil Blankenship.Lynda Carter as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman.Andros promises to return to see her in 50 years. Andros invites Wonder Woman to accompany him in space, but she replies that she is needed on Earth. After seeing that she is prepared to sacrifice her life to save him, and when Steve Trevor demonstrates that the Allied cause is just, the aliens relent on their threat to destroy the planet. Wonder Woman journeys to Germany to rescue Andros. The intergalactic council decrees that if he is killed the Earth will be destroyed. Wonder Woman tries to save him but faints after being hit by gas. While exploring the Library of Congress, Andros is stripped of his powers and captured by the Nazis. Wonder Woman and Andros must work together to prove America's intentions are peaceful, as Andros at first is not sure if either side is right (mentioning the internment of "Americans of Japanese descent" in reply to Wonder Woman's charges against the Nazi racial policies). The American government first suspects Andros of being a Nazi spy and the Nazis want to use Andros's powers for world domination. His mission is to convince the Council of Planets to whom he reports that the planet should not be destroyed because of humanity's warlike tendencies and, in particular, the human race's first steps towards the development of nuclear weapons.
An alien named Andros is dispatched to Earth to study it.
